How it works

Three steps. Then you're never alone in the air.

1

Check in with Alma

Tell Alma what you want flying to make possible, when you're flying, and what usually feels hardest. She shapes the program around your answers — no labels, no tests.

2

Follow the program

Five short modules that help you understand your fear and train new ways to meet it — plus the Practice Lab, where you run small, safe experiments and collect what you learn.

3

Fly with company

On flight day you follow your own travel plan, step by step — with quick tools and audio guides that work in airplane mode. Flying very soon? Quick mode gives you the essentials in three steps.

The program

Built on what actually helps.

No miracle cures — evidence-based methods from CBT, ACT, and exposure training, packaged with warmth so they're easy to use. Guided all the way by Alma.

1

Understand your fear

Your fear loop: what sets it off, what happens inside you, and what you usually do.

2

What do you want to be able to do?

Short-term relief vs long-term freedom — safety behaviors, and your own "why".

3

Drop the struggle

The control paradox, thoughts as events in your head, and the Anchor — your 60-second tool.

4

Approach and learn

The training engine: safe behavioral experiments, your practice menu, and your learning bank.

5

Time to fly

Your travel plan, flight day step by step, and support on board — all the way to landing.

The Practice Lab

Pick an experiment, predict what will happen, try it safely, and capture the lesson. Repetition is the program.

The Library

27 audio guides, honest facts about flying, deep dives, and fear tracks matched to what feels hardest for you.

Alma — your guide

Ask anything, anytime. Alma knows the whole program, remembers your trip, and meets you with warmth — never lectures.

Quick mode

Flying soon? The essentials in three steps plus quick buttons — even if you download the app at the airport.

Capture the lesson

After every flight, you compare your prediction with what actually happened — so each trip builds on the last.

Works in airplane mode

Everything you need on board lives in the app: the tools, the audio guides, your travel plan. No connection required when it counts.

Honest numbers

We don't promise your fear will disappear.
We promise you won't face it alone.

LoveSum doesn't exaggerate in either direction. Your fear makes sense — and the numbers are on your side.

38.7 million

commercial flights were completed in 2025. Flying is the safest form of long-distance travel humans have ever invented.

1 in 5.6 million

flights is involved in a fatal accident. The car ride to the airport is a bigger risk than the flight itself.

10–20 minutes

is all the anxiety curve needs to turn — your body can't sustain full alarm any longer than that. That knowledge is a tool.

One in four people feels uneasy about flying. You are never the only one on board. LoveSum is not a substitute for healthcare — if you're struggling beyond fear of flying, Alma will gently point you to the right support.

FAQ

Good questions deserve honest answers.

Is this therapy?
No. LoveSum builds on the same evidence-based methods used in CBT and ACT for fear of flying — psychoeducation, willingness, gradual approach — but it's a self-help tool, not healthcare. If what you're going through is about more than flying, Alma will gently help you find the right support.
Does the app work offline, on board?
Yes. The audio guides, the Library, and your travel plan live in the app and work in airplane mode. The chat with Alma requires a connection (onboard wifi works fine).
Should I pick per trip or the yearly plan?
Most people fly a few times a year — then per trip is right: help costs when you use it and is free in between. If you fly often, or want to keep practicing between trips, the yearly plan is cheaper and everything stays unlocked. The core parts are free either way.
Do I have to be flying soon to benefit?
No. The program works best when you start in good time and practice before the trip. But if you're flying very soon, Quick mode gives you the essentials in three steps — even if you download the app at the gate.
What happens to what I tell Alma?
Your conversations are used only to help you — they are never sold and never shared. You can ask Alma to delete everything at any time. The app also works entirely without an account.
Will my fear disappear?
We won't promise that — no honest program can. What we aim for is that fear gets less power over your choices: that you can do more of what you want to do, even when worry comes along. For most people, that's what changes everything.
